4th of July!

Staunton’s 4th of July celebration was a blast, so to speak. The parade through Gypsy Hill Park was extremely well attended, and was fun to be a part of. The Democratic Party float looked great, thanks to all the volunteers who helped decorate the big flatbed, and when Staunton, Augusta County and Waynesboro committee members combined with Sam Rasoul and his campaign staffers, plus several Mark Warner for Senate staffers and Barack Obama staffers, we must have had a good 70 people walking along with the float—handing out pamphlets for each of the members of our ticket, giving away candy, flags and campaign stickers.

After the parade many of us joined the other volunteers who were staffing the booth in the park—giving out balloons and campaign materials, yard signs, bumper stickers. At times it was so crowded with visitors and volunteers I just had to step into the road to get out of the way.

Great turnout! Great day for Democrats!
